Ayala Polo Club, established by Iñigo Zóbel, is a premier polo destination in Spain with deep historical roots. The club's origins date back to the 1960s when Enrique Zóbel built Sotogrande's first polo field, the ‘Playa’ field. Although the original field was destroyed, the club officially began in 1967, marking the start of competitive polo in the area. Today, it continues under the leadership of Paola Zóbel, the founder's granddaughter.

The club has since expanded into a state-of-the-art facility featuring three professional polo fields, three exercise tracks, a roofed riding school, and stabling for 400 horses. Spanning 35 hectares of sports pitches and an additional 65 hectares of green land, Ayala Polo Club provides top-tier facilities in a picturesque setting.

Ayala Polo Club is the organizer of the Sotogrande summer polo season, a key event in the international polo calendar. The 2024 season includes major tournaments such as the Sotogrande International Polo Tournament, featuring the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Cups. These tournaments attract top players across low, medium, and high handicap categories, making them a highlight of the summer.

The club's matches are held at both the Ayala grounds in San Enrique and the Los Pinos fields near Sotogrande Marina. Since 2021, the Los Pinos grounds have been under Ayala Polo Club's lease, officially named "Ayala Polo Club Sede Los Pinos." Admission to all matches is free, offering spectators widespread access to world-class polo.
